Forest

We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.

Window light

PagMasaThumb

Window light is some of the best lighting in the world.
It is soft, it’s magical, and best of all, it is free. Find a scene lit only by window light and see what you can do with it. Take a portrait by window light. Or just let the light wash over a classic “bowl of fruit” still life. No matter what, you will learn why photographers have been relying on window light for years to create beautiful images.

Green dress

Test shots. Green dress, manual focus lenses. Used here: mamiya 80mm on a tilt/shift adapter, lensbaby 2.0 with 4-5.6 aparture ring. 32″octabox without a diffusion on a boom. Just can’t seem to get it perfectly strait and symmetrical to fake that beauty dish look a bit better.

Random

Randomness has somewhat differing meanings as used in various fields. It also has common meanings which are connected to the notion of predictability (or lack thereof) of events.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘random’ as “Having no definite aim or purpose; not sent or guided in a particular direction; made, done, occurring, etc., without method or conscious choice; haphazard.” This concept of randomness suggests a non-order or non-coherence in a sequence of symbols or steps, such that there is no intelligible pattern or combination.

Wannabe location scouting

SckThumb

I had this great idea today. It was about doing some location scouting and testing the gear all in one go. Turns out She wasn’t so much into it, as you can probably tell from the pictures :) Nevertheless, got some good test shots and tried out my 32″ octabox without a diffusion.
